About Jenny and Erin

Erin and I have been friends and business partners for years. On the surface we are complete opposites in every way, from temperament to height. But dig a little deeper and you will find we share a powerful number of things, from a love of learning and the joy of a challenge to the ability to laugh at just about anything (especially ourselves). Oh, and neither of us think much of giving up, which can get us into some sticky situations…

After years of bouncing “why” and “how” questions off of one another, it seemed natural to try to find other people who were thinking and talking about similar things. This was harder than we expected. Such people do exist, they are however scattered all over the world. So a blog seemed like the perfect answer. Although our subject matter can be serious, the very earnestness of the topics are often a source of humor and we don’t refrain, hence the tongue-in-cheek.

It’s hard to describe oneself, so Erin and I agreed to describe each other.

Jenny, described by Erin

Jenny is an amazing woman and friend. She views the world differently than anyone I have ever met. Jenny’s brilliance lies in her unwavering courage. She is not scared to set into the unknown, look foolish or question any belief she holds, no matter how dear. She will even hold your hand while she does it. Although she often returns from her “quests” a little scraped and bruised, she nearly always accomplishes what she sets out to and regardless of outcome comes back with a satisfied smile and stories for days. Watching and being a part of this process is both fascinating and inspiring. Jenny is amazingly aware of the world and is always ready to answer the most detailed question of how and why. Such attention comes with a price as it sometimes causes her to pay less attention to other, more obvious things. Because really, who else would forget their shoes at home when heading out for a 20 mile walk?

Oh, and it is only fair if to warn you, if inspired Jenny is a world-class sweet talker, with an imagination and enthusiasm that knows no boundaries. So if you find yourself alone with her agreeing to something that would have been unthinkable, oh say a couple of minutes earlier, don’t say you weren’t warned! On the other hand, you just might want to agree, as chances are it will be an adventure of a lifetime.

Erin, as described by Jenny

I absolutely adore Erin! She is first and foremost a wonderful friend and great person; kind, thoughtful, loyal and unwavering once she’s set on a course. Her thoughts run deep, finding all the little flaws, potential mishaps or inaccuracies in an idea or plan before it begins. Erin is nothing short of genius at connecting multiple threads and turning ramblingly abstract ideas into coherent thoughts and later into realities. Once Erin has been satisfied an idea is possible and a course of action has been agreed upon she is a force to be reckoned with! Combining this with her ultra competitive side ensures anything we start gets finished, finished on time and finished properly (although she and I have been known to knock heads time and again over the definition of properly). Erin truly knows how to both work and play hard!

Erin can organize nearly anything, well, besides her desk upon which papers are precariously piled and occasionally tumble avalanche style. Her primary focus is on the tech side of our blog, so she will not be doing nearly the volume of writing as myself but trust me she’s doing plenty of the thinking. Without Erin neither this blog nor our business would exist.

PS. We leave our family, friends and significant others out of our stories for the most part because we value their privacy, but they do exist.
