Winner of the Habits Contest
Posted in Contests and Memes on October 1st, 2007 by Erin DietrichCongratulations to Lodewijk at How to Be an Original on winning our contest and a $25 Amazon gift certificate!
His article A Strategy to Change Your Habits for the Better is a thoughtful look at habits and what it takes to change them. We found his breakdown of 4 categories of habit adoption quite interesting. They are; conditioning, copying, experience and choice.
Give this article a read, it is well worth it!
If you are itching to immerse yourself in thinking about habits you can find the contest entries at:

Thanks! I loved your contest and I loved writing the article. Winning the gift certificate is like the icing on the cake (or how does the saying go?).
I enjoyed reading the entries of other participants and there are some real quality pieces in there. I’m honored that you chose my article as the winner.
Thanks again!

Congratulations, Lodewijk! I’m heading over to read your post ~ I can already see there is much to digest.
And thank you once again, Jenny and Erin, for such a thought-provoking challenge. Since I discovered your site ~ and the “joys or RSS feeds” through you, LOL ~ I’m hooked.
Love,
Pippa

Lodewijk was an excellent choice for the competition winner. It has been an eye-opener to read so many of the contest entries. I’m grateful to all the participants for their contributions. They’re all teachers in their own ways and students too. Its a pleasure to expand on how I interpret things.

It was really hard picking a winner as there were so many interesting posts! I learned a lot through the process of reading them and want to write a rebuttal to a couple!

I’m sure you’re readers will look forward to your reflections about some of those entries. The comptition appeared so popular, you might consider holding periodic contests about topics of interest. There’s no lack of ideas!
