Jason,
I think it depends upon what you truly wish to accomplish. There's a couple of things that might be at odds with each other.

I know your overriding goal is to have people read your stuff in which case it seems posting frequency could go either way as once you're pretty well engrained in Google for instance it doesn't matter how new a post is if people key in the correct words you'll show up. If on the other hand you want people to read and actively interact with you and each other via comments I think posting more than once a day on a regular basis makes this difficult as the conversation is always moving and the longer one spends thinking through and considering what you said in one post the further behind they get with all the other posts and discussions.

Anyhow, guess that's not much of an answer but a couple more things to consider.

PS. I wonder if these last couple comments should be moved to the Catch-22 post as they fit that content better and other people with the same concerns would be more likely to find them there. It feels slightly wrong to be moving comments around though...

Jason, if you haven't already read it, I'd suggest checking out this post before deciding on whether or not you should start two blogs. It just points out a few things to consider.

As for your posting frequency, it's no problem for me :)

Alister has a lot of great articles on his site, so if anyone hasn't seen it, I highly suggest having a look around.

Unless the quality suffers, I can't see how it would hurt.

Oh, and I forgot to say, I like all of the links too. It's nice to be able to track down the people and articles you mention!

Hmm... I guess that's true. I've thought of starting another blog, more of a "personal" one, just whatever I feel like writing about, whether technology (what can I say, I'm in the IT industry), blogging, or humor. I could even have two personal development ones, though, I suppose, if it would help A Miracle A Day grow.

Jason, I am always impressed with your productivity. I don't dare say how long it takes me to write a post!

As far as frequency goes, I think if you have good quality (which I think you do), your frequency is great. It's fun to visit your blog, or in my case my feedreader, and know that you will have posted at least one, if not several, new articles. However, if you think you are doing too much, there is always the option of starting another blog... :)

Hey, when I'm in a writing mood, get out of my way... I can sometimes crank out 3-4 real, full-fledged, full quality articles in a few hours.

I keep reading that I should slow down on a lot of the blogs about how to grow your blog (like ProBlogger), and the most successful new blogger whom I have talked with (John Place) definitely posts a lot less frequently than I do.

I wonder if I'm hurting myself with my posting frequency... any one (who reads my stuff over at A Miracle A Day) have any opinion on the matter?

And... sorry about all the links, I just hate when I read a post or comment that refers to someone and then doesn't provide a link.

hehe. I laugh at myself. sorry about the title of my post. I had put it that way so I'd know what the post was in case I had to come back to it. Forgot to change it to something more useful/catchy before publishing. ah well.

guess there's no mistaking what THAT post is about.

I'm also surprised by how fast some of the other bloggers posted their entries.
